Thank you for visiting my website. I have always loved cycling and as an adult I have enjoyed cycle touring, taken part in triathalon races, enjoyed cycle sportives, mountain biking and even had a go at track cycling and BMX. My love these days is cycling for fun and fitness and the odd school run. Usually you will find me with family and friends, finding off road cycle routes or quiet lanes. As a single parent I often have my daughter as a passenger and of course no ride is complete without obligatory cake and tea consumption on route!
I qualified as a cycle Ride Leader with British Cycling through the Breeze programme which is a great initiative to encourage more women and families to get cycling through organised free rides which I enjoy leading. In recent years I have qualified as a Cycle Instructor and as well as working in schools teaching Bikeability for WSCC I teach privately and run balance bike clubs and cycle lessons. My passion though is supporting families to have the right, fully working kit and have the confidence and enthusiasm to cycle more. Haviing tried and tested most of the bike seats on the market I feel I am in a good position to advise on which seat would suit your bike and cycling goals. As well as helping you navigate the children's bike market.
I've always been practical and hands on (I had to be growing up on a farm). I have rescued many bikes out of skips returning them to a life on two wheels. In 2021 I quit my desk job in charity fundraising and events, I qualified as a Cytech Level 2 mechanic and haven't looked back. Hannah's Bike Barn officially launched in January 2022 and I hope to inspire more women and young people to pick up their tools and have a go at repairing or adjusting their own bikes; in the mean time I'm here to help.
